Pinnacle Studio project upgrade (Part 2)
Well i have to admit, at this point i've invested a lot of time learning Studio. So when i learned Studio 10 came out and that the rendering engine was based on Avid technology, i figured this was going to be good. After all, i've been very impressed with the features of Studio, though the stability of the app and the burn quality have only been average. i figured the Avid technology would address both of those issues. You know it may have, but i'm not sure i'll stick around to find out. Guess why? My last post talked of issues when upgrading a project from Studio 8 to 9, well this one is going to talk about my issue in upgrading a Studio 9 project to 10. i know, i know, Pinnacle wants you to finish a project in the version of Studio you started it in. And now i know why, and i do follow their recommendation. However there are occasions when i open an old project to get a refresher on how i did something or if i already used a song or what-not.
The issue i have with opening a Studio 9 project in 10 is... it loses the menus. Now during the last upgrade, it messed up the color corrections, that was almost tolerable since not every video clip or even every project had color corrections, but almost all of my projects contain menus, many of them fairly elaborate. This is horrible.
As for other issues with 10:
