Essential iPhone apps
OK, OK, I admit it. I was an iPhone Luddite. However after using the iPhone 3G for almost a year now, I must say it's become integrated into my life. Here's some of the apps I find indespensable:
- Google. Love the voice recognition.
- Google 411. Well its not technically and app, but an excellent resource for any mobile phone user.
- Pandora. Why buy 32GB of storage when you just going to listen to streaming music anyway.
- mSecure. Keeps all my private info (i.e. passwords) readily available and secure.
- Facebook. If you going to do the social thing, this is the best way to do it.

Insure vs. Ensure
ensure: verb 1 make certain that (something) will occur or be so. 2 (ensure against) make sure that (a problem) does not occur.
insure: verb 1
arrange for compensation in the event of damage to or loss of
(property, life, or a person), in exchange for regular payments to a
company. 2 secure the payment of (a sum) in this way. 3 (insure against) protect (someone) against (a possible eventuality). 4 another term for ENSURE.
Based on this, I say let's make things a bit easier on ourselves and drop the 4th definition of insure.

Hidden Yahoo IM emoticons
It's amazing to me how a combination of a few characters can conjure up an image to build an emoticon. It's like looking at constellations in the sky. IMO, I find this a much more creative exercise than the shorthand behind SMS. Oh well, enough of that. Here's a link to some additional emoticons available in Yahoo IM.

Fun with Linux (i think)
Yeah, yeah, i'm not a Linux pusher or anything. However i do a lot of my work on either Linux or Solaris, so the little comments about updating rpm's, checking dependencies and what not make my laugh. Besides, when it's done playing i kind like the music playing in the background.
